There, there.

Suddenly, I want to recall how it felt.
When see everyone around is still breathing.

And there you are...

Understanding

Before you hate someone, try to think first.
Sometimes, you should think less of yourself.
Even if its not your fault.

You may never know the real story behind it.
You may never know.

Hello there "friend".
Grow up!

Think tank, think tank

Sometimes, it comes to a point that it gets very confusing.
But sometimes, the message is loud and clear.
Then it goes back to the part where you think "no, that can't be possible"
And the only question that comes into your mind is "why?"

Now, tell me what's on your mind.

And the only answer is "maybe, maybe not"

The next question is: "what are you going to do about it?"

21 and 21st!

Last October 21st, I just turned 21, yey!

Well, the day itself didn't turn out very special. But the "celebration" days were awesomeeee! :)

My first birthday celebration was with EDC team during the "Eidul Adha" or the Feast of Sacrifice holiday.
Me, together with my two other team mates who celebrated their birthday weeks ago agreed to have a team dinner.

On the day of the holiday itself, we found out that the restaurants that we want to dine in are really jam-packed with people celebrating their day-ff during the holiday! Too bad. :(

But after a few walks and after a loooong search on different buffet and restaurants around Ayala, we happen to take the risk to get some seats at the Krocodile Grille located at Greenbelt 3.

Annnnd, thank God their food is really delicious and their group meals are really affordable! We actually had some meals left untouched because we were really bloated.

I do recommend their sisig, clam choweder and kare-kare. (Read my full review on Krocodile Grille here!)
EDC family! (too bad our team manager took his leave that day)
The second celebration was also a birthday-fuse celebration with Abi. Together with Eds and Dyan, we also had a dinner at The Old Spaghetti House at SM Mall of Asia. (Read my TOSH review here!)

Movie Stars Cafe

Lion King performance

Lion King!!
They also have life-sized superhero models!

Movie Stars Cafe is located at the seaside road near SM Mall of Asia. It is a movie-themed restaurant wherein their waiters and waitresses appear as different superheroes and villains. But they don't only feature cartoon or comic characters, they also have performances inspired by some movies such as High school musical and Step Up.

Check out our experience last October 20th!

The Old Spaghetti House

@ SM Mall of Asia

The place was actually small and warm. It's actually good for a small group or intimate conversations.

This was during my birthday-fuse celebration with Abi.
We tried their Appetizer basket, Nachos, Spaghetti with meatballs, Carbonara, Supremo and Pepperoni Pizza. (Plus a slice of Tiramisu cake!)

Overall, the taste was okay (or maybe my taste buds were affected by merely tiredness from a 4-hour OT hehehe)

Krocodile Grille

Located at the patio of Greenbelt 3

The place can accommodate a huge number of customers (good for meeting up with your group of friends...and for drinking as well haha) plus, there are stuffed crocodile animals all over the place. Cute!

Sorry! Most of the pictures were almost leftovers hahahaha!
Overall, their food was really affordable and delicious!

I suggest you order their very creamy Clam chower, cheesy Baked Oysters, Seafood and Pork Kare-kare, and our favorite crispy Pork Sisig! Yum yum :)

If I were to rate Krocodile Grille when it comes to their food and its price, i'll give them 4.5 stars out of five!

Just wait. I'll come for you one day when opportunity comes my way.
It's been roughly 7 months but I still have 4years, 4 months and a couple of days left.

But just so you know, I'm doing my best on preparing for our meet-up.

Waiting

Waiting for nothing in the snow,
The tree has lost all its leaves,
We're still on the darkest winter,
Oh spring, will you ever come?

I'm still waiting for you to come,
Until the moment that I forget that I'm waiting.

i'm so sad, :(
so so sad.

-K.

The Bucket List: Update!

It's been 6 months since we wrote our so-called "bucket list" during our retreat. Hmm. So let me recall some of the things that I wrote:

- To get a job right after graduation. (checked)
My goal was to start on May, and I nailed it! Though it is not my expected work nor career path, it could mean something, maybe a challenge or a fresh start for me. Thanks to Thomson Reuters :)

- 2 Birds in 1 stone: To travel to one of the 7 Wonders of Nature + to hold a REAL starfish (checked)

Underground river in Puerto Princesa, Palawan! 1 down, 6 more to go! All I can say about our tour was "woooooow!" and I sincerely salute their former mayor Edward Hagedorn for his dedication and effort to promote Eco-tourism in the province. I can't wait to share the things that we've learned from our tour!

-To swim in an open ocean without wearing a life vest! (checked)

I really wanted to try this one a long time ago, but since my "motha" is bombrading me with words and worries, I can't really take off that protective gear. Oh well, I should say that I've hit 3 birds in one stone in our Palawan trip because this time, I pushed my limits!

The picture on the left was one of my underwater shots during our snorkeling sessions on our island hopping at Honda bay. Too bad I haven't had any pictures of myself for memorabilia, so I've posted this picture instead. :)

To get a non-professional driver's license before I turn 21! (checked)
This is my symbolic representation of independence HAHA :)

But there's more!
-To establish a food business! (A MUST!)
-This might be embarrassing, but I haven't planned a thanksgiving treat for my family yet, but technically these past few months, I can consider that I partially treated them (with the help of my siblings). HAHA, but still, I have to push this one on my own.
-To finally go to Enchanted Kingdom
-To experience para sailing, sky diving, white water rafting, and cliff diving
-To bake cream puffs and chocolate eclairs
-To skate on ice!
-To finish some drafts saved on blogger
-To join a triathlon event
-Buy a musical instrument
-To experience F1 driving
-Buy my own gadget
-Watch a movie...alone
-Own a Labrador, Golden Retriever, or Siberian Husky
-Confront "guyguy" (someday) (To those who knew this person, it is not "bitterness") HAHA
-To read 30 books/year
-To invest
-STUDY STUDY!
-To finally ...

Pull me in, take me out.

...and something's missing that is too hard find, too hard to fill.
But "tick-tock", it does not stop.
I'm left behind, so help me God.

Sometimes, putting that mask on would make others feel happy.

Cinnamon Rolls

April 20, 2013

I was supposed to take a jog yesterday but unfortunately, the oval wasn't available since it was publicly closed for the city's foundation day, or should I say the oval was closed due to the campaign of the different candidates for the upcoming elections?

I was really upset because I only have one day in a week to do some exercise (and I'm also excited to do some power abs after a looooong loooong time) after eating A LOT every minute and every second of the day - and this means that I eat for two to three persons per meal. Haha! That's why I really needed to burn and convert those "unused fats" into energy. As a result of my anger and frustration, I decided to try to bake some Cinnamon rolls! I actually found this recipe on the website "Joy of Baking".

Here are the listed inrgedients:

For the dough:
4 1/2 - 5 cups (590 - 660 grams) all-purpose flour
1 package (1/4 ounce) (7 grams) (2 teaspoons) active dry yeast (remember, its active dry!) =)
1 cup (240 ml) milk ( I used full cream fresh milk)
1/3 cup (75 grams) unsalted butter
1/3 cup (66 grams) granulated white sugar
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 grams) salt
3 large eggs

For the filling:
3/4 cup (160 grams) packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup (35 grams) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, cold (cut into pieces)
1/2 cup (120 ml) raisins or currants (optional)
Half-and-half (or light cream)*

For the glaze: (Optional)
1/2 cup (58 grams) powdered (confectioners or icing) sugar
1 - 2 tablespoons half-and-half(light cream)

*I used this substitute for half and half:
7/8 cup (210 ml) whole milk plus 2 tablespoons (25 grams) melted unsalted butter
This would make 1 cup of half-and-half =)

Procedure:

Hulog ng Langit

April 21, 2013

At wala akong nagawa.

The Bridge (a short story)

Once there was a bridge that can grant someone’s wish if they manage to cross the other side of it.

First, a photographer appeared and was amazed on how the bridge was built and the landscape surrounding it. But he has a problem – how can he get the perfect angle of the bridge without falling?
The bridge heard him and gave the photographer an illusion so that he may cross the other end of the bridge and therefore grant his wish.

In the photographer’s illusion, he knew that he was only dreaming, but the bridge manipulated him to get the right angle and right timing to get the perfect picture. When he came back to his normal consciousness, he found out he wasn’t dreaming.

The bridge, who was desperate to find someone to talk to, talked to him. But the photographer was overwhelmed with emotions and became terrified by the incident. He quickly ran away and never went back to the bridge again.

Next, a musician found the bridge at the midst of his loneliness and wanted to rekindle the flame that he had with his girlfriend. He wished that time that this could be the perfect place that he can use to serenade his girl so that they could reconcile. The bridge heard his thoughts while the man was strolling up to the end of the bridge. When the man looked back, he noticed that he was already at the middle of the bridge, singing songs to her long lost girlfriend. Along with his romantic gesture is the perfect ambiance – a starry night and miraculously, they were seeing an Aurora in the night sky. Right after their celebration, the man asked his girl for her hand. She gleefully agreed to become his wife and left the bridge.
